CSA Explores Partnership with Ghana Statistical Service to Strengthen Child Online Protection

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has paid a visit to the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) as part of efforts to strengthen evidence-based decision-making to advance cybersecurity development, specifically child online protection in Ghana.

Leading the CSA team, the Deputy Director-General (Regulatory Operations), Dr. Jamal Seidu Tonzua, noted the importance of partnering with the GSS to explore opportunities for research to support cybersecurity development in the country.

The Government Statistician, Dr. Alhassan Iddrisu, described cybersecurity issues, especially those related to child online protection, as a critical area that requires strong institutional collaboration. He expressed the GSS’ readiness to support the CSA.

Discussions centred on integrating Child Online Protection (COP) indicators into existing national surveys and the possibility of institutionalising a national child online safety survey.

The meeting ended with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to the partnership and agreeing to develop and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to guide the collaboration.
